Welcome to my 1st official Christmas Tour of my home! This year I kept my decor pretty simple and traditional. I will never tire of a red themed decor with pops of silvers and golds. I will let the pictures just speak for themselves. Hope you enjoy my home decorated for the Holidays! And if you'd like to read about my Christmas Traditions pop on over to This Post. I am so excited to be sharing a project I have been working on the last little bit! This nursery was a dream to create! Not only was my sweet client such a pleasure to work with, she had some great suggestions to implement! I loved the rustic modern theme she wanted with a neutral palette and some orange splashes. She and I LOVE how it turned out.
This awesome storage bench has now made into 2 of my designs. It is so transitional and the scale and quality is awesome. Loving this view of the room.
I think every little kid needs a book ledge wall like this one. Such a fun idea I've seen all over pinterest. These west elm ledges couldn't have fit the space more perfectly!
These colors, textures and patterns make my heart go pitter-pat. So in love with this corner!
This gallery wall is what started the whole direction of the room. Creating gallery walls may just be my favorite thing to do lately.
Here is the before picture. We all have one of these rooms in our house, don't we? I know our house has one! The catch all room. Well, this baby boy has a great new room he can grow into. What a lucky little man.
Here is the mood board I sent over to my client to start the design process. I love seeing the items like this, then what staging them can do to bring the whole look together.
Again, this room was SUCH a pleasure to create!

I am so honored to be joining some of my favorite bloggers in 'A Holiday withHeart" today. If you've hopped over here fromBridget and Casey's blog ... Welcome! The ubber talented Jennifer Stagg from withHeartasked me to participate today and share not only some of my Christmas decor with you, but some of my favorite traditions that make this holiday time full of meaning for my family and I. I loved this amazing idea Jennifer had! It is SO easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the season and forget what the true meaning is. I know from experience that slowing down, and just enjoying the small moments are what matter most.
Last year, I was expecting my third child and had a medical condition that made it impossible to keep any thing down. For the entire month of December I was pretty much on bed rest. I ended up in the ER on Christmas Day. I don't tell you this for pitty, but to share the beautiful lesson that was taught to my family again and again, over and over during this hard time. We couldn't believe the amount of service and thoughtfulness we received. Though I wasn't able to take my kids to look at lights, or ice skating, or other fun outings, I was able to teach them about the Savior, His love for us, and how people serving us was the Savior's way of letting us know we were loved. I am so thankful my children were able to see how much goodness is in the world and how wonderful people can be. It was a still holiday full of snuggles, and one season I'll never forget. So, as I share more of some favorite traditions, I just want to remind you all that it isn't about the decorations or the gifts, but it is about the miraculous birth of our Savior why we celebrate this glorious time of year.
This time of year just seems magical. Since I was a little girl I couldn't wait for this time. I would sleep by the tree as often as I could and it was a favorite day of mine when my mom let me pick out my very own miniature tree for my room. I kid you not when I say that tree stayed up that first year til well past February. You bet I bought my little girls their own tree as soon as I could. They love having the "rainbow colored lights" on their red tinsel tree they picked out light up their room. And they cannot wait to rush down stairs every morning to see where their Elf, Sparkles, has moved to. Having kids this time of year makes the season that much more magical and exciting.
We adore this time of year. From trying ice skating for the first time, to attending their cousins choir performance at the local Dickens Festival... We just love spending quality time as a family. We adore putting a log on the fire (yes, we have a wood burning one!) and snuggling up with a bowl of pop corn watching a Christmas movie together. Their movie of choice this year is The Elf on the Shelf.
I married a good man who insists on doing an act of service every season. Last year my girls picked two little girls their own ages to buy presents for. This year we had a great time helping our neighbors hang lights on their house since the husband just had shoulder surgery and are looking forward to caroling at a local retirement community with the cousins. I look forward to them getting older so we can do more service for others.
My husband and I started collecting a yearly ornament a few years after we were married. Then as we started having children we got a framed birth year ornament for the new baby. Watching my children the night we get out the ornament box out of storage is so exciting for the entire family. The joy on my childrens faces as they find their baby ornament and the ones they've made in previous years to hang on the tree is indescribable. This year I let the girls decorate the tree with all of our keepsake and homemade ornaments. We make some new ones every year. I still love the homemade clay ones they made last year with their Nana and Papa Rockwood you see hung here. And, let me add... there is nothing more magical than a babys first Christmas... Make my heart melt.
Christmas Eve... this night has always been the one I look forward to most. Even more than Christmas Day. It's the time when we gather as a family and have those moments where all of the best memories are made. It is such a beautiful time gathering together, enjoying food, music, laughter and love.
Since I was little we got together with my mom's side and on Christmas Eve were read Luke 2, the story of Jesus's birth, to set the mood for what the true meaning of this season is. Probably my favorite Christmas Tradition is one my Mom started when she and her siblings started having Grandchildren. My mom found an entire set of costumes to reenact the Savior's birth story. All of the young children wear a costume as the story is read. The Spirit and mood is so peaceful and it brings tears to my eyes... with out fail... every time. I am so thankful for such a beautiful tradition my children get to be a part of.
Every year I buy a Christmas book and read the collection to my kids through out the month. There is nothing more peaceful in this busy time of year than cuddling with my kids reading a story to them.
May we remember the reason for the season and keep Christ in Christmas. May you all have a beautiful Holiday with loved ones celebrating our Saviors birth.

I cannot believe that it's already 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!?!' This year has just zoomed by for me. It's been a great one and I can't wait to for the day after Thanksgiving when we have a tradition to set up our Christmas decor as a family.
I'm not one who goes totally all out for Holiday decor, but I am one who loves to add a little at time, year by year, to my Christmas decor collection. I love the homemade ornaments my kids make at preschool and church, and I adore the keepsakes my husband and I have from when we were kids. When I decorate for Christmas... its warm and traditional... just the way we like it.
I know its a few weeks from when most of you all will start decking the halls, but I wanted you to get thinking about adding a few items to your own collection this year. The few items I have on my list are some cute holiday pillows and some knitted throws. A perfect way to add a cozy, holiday flare to your home.
Here are a few of my favorite's I've rounded up for you! I've linked them all at the bottom of this post. Merry Christmas Season and Happy Shopping, friends!
I cannot believe we are almost half way through the thankful month already!? I was saving this giveaway for my favorite time of the year...
Not only is it my favorite persons birthday today, (Happy Birthday to my Hubby!) I love the changing of the leaves, the crisp air, the yummy baking smells, and the quality time with family and loved ones. The only downside to the changing of seasons for me... Is my cracked hands and skin that comes with the cold, dry weather.
Who's with me!?!
Well, I found this body butter that I'm in love with and officially hooked on! I'm pretty picky when it comes to lotion, especially on my hands. This one not only smells like a clean vanilla... so fresh! But, it moisturizes with out feeling greasy, and actually is absorbed into my skin. Another perk... Moderecreates non toxic, clean products...
So, naturally I had to share it with you all and host a giveaway with these favorite products of mine!
For those who'd like to try this Body Butter or other great products from my new FAVORITE company, Modere,

This corner in my family room is my FAVORITE spot in my entire home. It's our first home with a fireplace, and creating this cozy corner was a must on my list. So many times I'm curled up in this chair, with the fire going, lamp on, with a good book, favorite magazine, or lets be honest... scrolling instagram. Here are a few of the items for you to shop:
What do you notice about the above picture!? Is it the beautiful vanity? The gorgeous mosaic tile? The nice rug? What if I told you one of the most important items in this room you can't even see?
That's right... today I want to talk about Rug Pads.
Though you can't even see them, they make such a big difference when putting rugs in a room. They not only add cushion to your feet, they protect your floors and make rugs, like this one, stay in place. I had this rug for over a year and have had it in my bathroom. It was just a pretty accent, not comfortable at all, and could only stay in place if I used rug tape... not ideal, I was meaning to replace it something more comfy, then I realized I could just try out a rug pad instead. It's made such a big difference, and I feel like its made this rug one I'll love for a long time to come! I'm so happy that it finally stays in place too.
I found RugPad USA and have loved the product I received. Not only did they custom fit the rug pad to my rug, but they even tapered it so the rug would lay perfectly on it. I loved the customer service and they were so easy to work with.
I chose the Eco-Plush Felt Rug Pad and have really liked it. It is made in the USA, non-toxic, odor free and safe for all flooring types and its made out of recycled materials. Love that its green... And love that its quality for a great AFFORDABLE price. Especially compared to others I've seen. The best part is there is a buying guide they have to help you pick the best rug pad for your needs and for your flooring to ensure you wont ruin your floors.
Why would you want a high quality rug pad, anyway???
"The market is flooded with low- quality, prepackaged, mass-produced rug pads that are manufactured cheap and aren't designed to last. When your rug dealer offers you a "free rug pad with area rug", chances are that this "free" pad is virtually cost-less to them. Most of them come with a limited warranty, or without a warranty at all. Typically, within a few years, these low-quality pads will either fall apart, or worse permanently damage the floors below. As many homeowners have learned, these "free" pads are actually quite costly; and many have had to replace their entire floors due to an inferior pad. Our products are guaranteed to never strip, damage or discolor floors and come with a 15-20 year warranty!"

If you own a rug, then you are in the market for a rug pad! Give it a try and see what a great addition it can make for you.
